Bridgwater has an astonishing wealth of trading history and was for hundreds of years the only large port for most of Somerset. Trade was very extensive and there are at least a dozen other Bridgewaters in the rest of the world. This book was written to coincide with the 800th anniversary of the Bridgwater's First Charter

Tales from the Riverbank     Three men watching a Shetland pony being sold at Bridgwater Fair

River of Trees    Making goats cheese at Nether Stowey   Fuller on Spaxton church bench end

"James Crowden is a touch more impish in his poetry, with some pithy observations and gentle digs... A delightful collaboration...A lovely little book"

"A very penetrating eye and a deep understanding... Thoroughly recommended"
