Carol and I were friends for many years. I am so sad that she is gone. Her articles in the Western Morning News were the first thing I turned to on a Saturday and they were inspirational and full of her passion for local food. During her illness we would crack really bad jokes about the side-effects of treatments and she was always so determined to find the positive in everything. I am so sad that she didnt tell me she was so ill again. I shall miss her terribly, but I am so glad to have known her. The tributes that are pouring in are a small reflection of how she touched people's lives.
