James Crowden

Carol was a tremendous support to us both in our endeavours and a great friend of the Harris Arms.  She was so brave and positive – I spoke to her only a few days before she died and had no idea how ill she must have been and she merely said she’d had a ‘set back'.

She was a constant inspiration to Rowena and I – a real ‘food’ person who was passionate about food and wine.  For all her experience of all aspects of food, she was always willing to learn new things and to give away knowledge to others.  She was a gentle, persistent, enquiring person with a twinkle in her eyes.

We learnt so much from Carol and in the last conversation she taught me much about courage.
