James made an in depth series of recordings about Food
Rationing and rural diet for Chard Museum during the Second World
War contrasting village and town life. These
are now available as a three part CD
|

Presented and recorded a programme called 'Chasing Hares'
which was an investigative feature about the Three Hares symbol,
which is found not only in medieval churches in Devon but in many
religious contexts across Europe and Central Asia.

Since 2004 James has featured on several more 'Open Country'
programmes and has taken part in a new series called 'Landlines'
pioneered by the BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol which has
taken him to Gloucestershire, Derbyshire and the Kent Marshes.
The third series is due to go out in Dec 2005. He has also taken
part in a 'Ramblings' with Clare Balding around Melbury Abbas
in Dorset.
